portfolio - "Alice Under-ground"

This project is a hybrid, experimental reading of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. Here, Alice is not simply in search of wonder, but rather attempts to reconstruct her memory within a world in decay. Set in an old warehouse in Kolonos—resembling a public service building from the ’80s and ’90s—two figures engage in a silent ritual of archiving, where memories, dreams, and fears emerge through a mechanical process of repetition and poetic distortion. The work disrupts linear narrative, drawing spectators into an ambiguous spatiotemporal terrain where the imaginary and the real constantly converge. Positioned at the intersection of theatre, performance, and visual installation, the piece incorporates archival material from "Alice in Wonderland is Not a Book", directed by Stella Maggana and presented at the Baggeion in spring 2022.
