This project explores the design of urban equipment embedded in the spatial and cultural context of the Kerameikos district in Athens — an area shaped by its industrial past, the presence of public murals, and an evolving social landscape.
The proposal introduces a sculptural seating element that activates an underused urban void and encourages informal gathering. Its spiral geometry creates a continuous sequence of surfaces for sitting, leaning and play, promoting spontaneous interaction and offering multiple modes of occupation in public space.
Inspired by the neighbourhood’s vivid street art, the structure incorporates colour and graphic interventions that reflect the local visual identity. At the same time, its surfaces are envisioned as a canvas for street artists, allowing them to leave their mark and further integrate the installation into the urban fabric.
